Sheila uses a variety of hand dyed fabrics in her work, from fine silk chiffon to velvet. These fabrics she machine embroiders to create pictures, which have both depth and texture. She also produces cushions; velvet scarves and bags, which are all hand, dyed and are very individual. All her work is unique in design and has been sold in craft fairs and art exhibitions.

Recently she has produced designs for Christmas cards, diaries and mugs, which have been printed and sold in aid of the Rowans Hospice at Purbrook, Hampshire.

Sheila's inspiration for her work is drawn from nature, the countryside around Hampshire, the North Devon coastline and holidays abroad. She uses both drawings and photographs in her design and often works to commissions.
